Back to kicking a dead horse again. What is the big difference in the Honda turbo vs Honda titan prop? I running the titan 4blade 13.25x15p prop now and after dropping the motor back down one hole and I'm still hitting 6000+ @ 40 mph and with a 4blade 13x17p I get 42mph @ 5700. I can cruise 30mph @ 4800 with the 15 and 30mph at about 4300 with 17. I was told the turbo would get me a better cruising rpm range and better fuel economy over all. I'm looking at the 13.25x15p turbo.

I have not run those two props against eachother.
just two different manufacturers. one is Turbo, the other is Solas.
to compare economy, you really need to compare GPH at the same speed.
RPM at that speed does not really matter, sometimes a prop can turn more RPM at the same cruise speed but actually burn less fuel.

I may have found a happy medium Solas Rubex HR4 13.25x16p. Who knows!

Well, the Solas Rubex was the missing piece of my puzzle. I get 42.7-43.3mph @ 6k rpm with a full load(3 adults, 1 oversized GSP, beer cooler and full tank of fuel). I get a better hole shot, bow rides a tad higher(better ride) and handling in also slightly improved.

Well. I tried playing around with a Powertech rxb4 13.25x18p to get the RPM below 6000+ and maybe pick up better cruising speed and maybe a little on top end. I use to run 32-33 @ 5000rpm and 42-43 top end @ 6000+. Well, my cruising speed speed improved to 32-35 @ 4200-4500rpm. But!!!! I loss top end from 43 to 39 and almost 1k rpm on WOT. We did discover after careful examination that I'm still running a little too deep and we raised the motor one hole. We plan to try it again tomorrow and see what the results are. Thanks, Ken for your advice the other day.

let us know what happens when you raise the motor.

Raising the motor didn't help. There was no change. I the RXB4 has better handling than the solas, but I think I'll need a 16p instead of the 18p to get my rpms above 5K.

sounds like a 16 is the ticket
