      Update ken2

Tried a heavily cupped 15p mirage plus and a 16.5p eco XP. The mirage plus yielded lower slip and equal fuel burn at cruise and imo felt better. The only thing the eco did better was it outran it at 41mph. Couldn't quite get the rpm out of the eco either as it topped out at 5750rpm. I'll post the numbers below so you can have a look at it Ken. I am satisfied with the mirage and could live with it but I am wondering if the powertech LFS4 will yield lower slip and therefore better fuel burn? What are your thoughts? Can you give me a price on the LFS4 in LH rotation 15P or 16p please? Also would like it to accept a square bore hub.

      Cupped 15p mirage plus
      26mph, 4160rpm, 13.5gph, 25.98% slip
      38.5mph, 5800rpm, 21.38% slip

      Eco enertia XP 16.5p
      27.3mph, 4550rpm, 13.4gph, 28.94% slip
      41mph, 5750rpm, 15.55% slip

      Rev4 17p
      26.3mph, 4640rpm, 15gph, 34.84% slip
      37.5mph, 5700rpm, 24.37% slip

Seems like my hull just has high slip numbers. Its running a 2016 300hp verado with 1.85 gear ratio leg btw. I just cant help but think there has got to be something better for me...

Also I should mention that my motor is mounted all the way up in the highest position. I suspect that I could lower the motor a hole or two and improve on the mirage plus numbers a bit from running one in the past on a different boat.

The LFS4 is not bad, but I dont' think its going to get any better economy.
But given the slip is high with pretty much everything you've tried, I bet lowering that motor a hole or 2 would help more then anything.

K thanks ken. I figured you deserved some business for all the advice. The phone call for the oddball LH ofs4 13p was me.

Ahh, sounds good, interested on how that one runs.
