Last I heard they were going full steam ahead with pre-builts going on foundations, etc. My buddy was just there said everything was rocking and rolling. That was about a month-ish ago.

    What did you hear?

I know that the Government was starting to get a whiff that maybe they could be doing better than the deal they made with treasure hunter man.

I don't see how this ends well. I think everyone in the room knows dang straight that the numbers don't add up. You don't run an operation like he was running AND fund that island AND fund the toys etc. from that net worth. He's missing a few zeros to get there.

I don't think. We'll ever know. Hopefully Walkers gets finished. I'd like to go one day.

I know first hand how frustrating development can be in the Bahamas. We have a half built commercial dock at Norman’s because the right permits weren’t pulled. We also had a fuel dock that took THREE years to be commissioned because the right people weren’t used in the construction process….. list goes on and on and on

      It's not what you know.
It's who you know and pay off.

There's a fuel dock in Black Point (north side of the cove). We were speaking with the locals (laundry, etc.) Not a single one of them has a clue as to why the dock hasn't opened. Each one of them said the same thing, it's 100% ready and operational - but can't open.

The Bahamas could be richer and more lucrative than the big-named banking islands. Instead, they fleece every person they can for $20-$50 here and there and then make it impossible to do much of anything.

Sad really. But I'll say this much -- the Exumas this summer was totally different. It's like the Bimini people found their way there. Iguana Cove (Allen's) was terrible with drunk (and likely high on cocaine) Miami people. Blasting music, etc. Terrible. The people that are being attracted to the area are the ones you don't want.

Need to get to Norman's one day. Only stopped to dive the plane many trips ago.

The northern Exumas will for the most part remain the same albeit higher dockage rates and less public access to certain beaches but compass south to Georgetown is a shitshow. The commercialization of iguanas, sharks and pigs has gotten rediculous. Boat operators are cowboys(it’s also surprising that no one has been killed by one of the day charter operators). Marina operators just turned into money grabbers and forgot about the transient yacht crowd that supported them for years and years before the popularity from instagram and YouTube arose because of the pigs.

I could go on and on
