  • Planning a trip in May.

I am planning a trip late May early June for the Abacos. I have been there plenty of times but have always just made a beeline for Green Turtle and hung out there. Usually rented a slip and a hotel room. Went to Treasure once for a couple of days and drove a car down to Marsh Harbor to look around and get some supplies.

This trip we are staying on the boat and I want to hit a few places. Thought about stopping at Grand and visiting Rosie's. And will for sure hit Green Turtle for a day or two. Any other suggestions? For all my experience in the Bahamas I just don't know that many places.

I will probably post this over on TOS as well. I know a ton of people go from that site.

Weren’t the Abacos tattooed really bad by a Hurricane a couple years ago?
      Have they rebuilt yet?

From what I hear some are pretty much back and running. I know GTC is good to go and heard Treasure is as well.

I was thinking of hitting a few on the way down and a couple on the way back. Probably get as far down as Hope Town or Elbow. Not planning on going all the way to the southern end (Hole In the Wall). That would be a hike for a 9 day trip running 26mph.

I guess that depends on how you like to travel.
          Iffin it was me.
Day one- Walkers, (If you can clear) only to see what going on.
Personally, Grand Cay is a dump, a fishing camp.
Day Two- GTC, hang a day or Two.
Day 4-5-6 Elbo, then day trip to Pete's which is Little Harbor, Not H.I.T.W.
Day 7-8 back to Spanish Cay,
          Day 9, home.
All weather permitting and May, it will be breazy.
Allthough, that Yatch can handle most anything.

I am planning late May or early June to try and get In between the winds and heat.
Hopefully, with my luck I will get both.
        Working...
