Lake Erie claims another

Sadly a young man fell off a boat over the past several days and his body was found this am. Accident happened at night between Put In Bay-aka South Bass Island- and the Catawba Peninsula. Alcohol was involved. 21 years old and leaves 2 children behind. Boating and booze just don't mix, especially on this lake.

Thats terrible, so young and with a very young family. How incredibly sad.

We just lost a very close family friend sons(23) in a motorcycle accident. No drinking, 2pm in the afternoon. A truck pulled making a turn on a highway pulled out in front of him(did not see the bike) and pretty much killed him instantly from a collapsed mid section. Having walked through this with them, its an unbelievable, unconceivable thing for any parent to walk through.

I’m deeply saddened to hear about the tragic incident. It’s a stark reminder of the importance of safety and sobriety while boating. My thoughts go out to the young man’s family and his two children. Let’s all remember to stay safe and responsible on the water.
