Many of you probably saw our part of the country on Fox News and others a few days ago. Each year people, this time 18, get stranded on ice flows which the wind breaks loose from shore or just offshore. Each year the national weather service and Coast Guard broadcast warnings to no avail. All equipment including snowmobiles, shanties, fishing gear, etc are left behind. Most people thing the goofs should be charged for this rescue--what say all of you?

How big is the flow, nobody thought to bring a raft? Nobody thought to bring a dingy and small outboard? I'll rescue each of them for $100 a head, no promises no guarantees. This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties either expressed, written or implied and confers no rights.

I remember when we were kids my grandpa had a camp on 1st lake in Adirondacks. We would be swimming in the lake 2 weeks after the ice was gone.
We moved to the west coast of Florida and got used to swimming in the GOM. Went up to visit our grandparents during summer break and went to the lake. They could not get us to get into that lake for nothing it was so cold in July.

I visit family in MI
They have a lake cabin in the northern lower peninsula they tube on
They are all screaming happy having the time of their life, they get back in the boat and their lips are blue, they shiver etc. in July!
My fav part of the GOM is that little trough made where the waves wash back to before the next wave comes.it’s about 1’ deep. In July that’s about 92 degrees.
Perfect temp
