I have a new boat I’m rigging the chartplotter (Garmin Echomap) and ran across this when I opened up the back of the helm. I’ve used NMEA2000 in the past, but this is new to me. I do know it’s the Command link (+) multi-bus. So do I need a special cable to integrate the chartplotter to this system? Another question for later on - for MMSI on a vhf, will the vhf get gps coordinates from this bus?
    All help appreciated!

Not up on the new command link stuff but my VHF gets its GPS info internally. It sends the AIS data to my Furuno's to display on the plotter but that's through the nema 2000 network.

On the VHF, ^^^^^This^^^^^. IF it's equipped.
As for the Command Link + or Just Command Link, that is the Yamaha bus, from how you go from there depends on whether you have a NMEA Network in the boat.
If you do, you need one of these.

        Thank you very much!
The boat did not come rigged with a nmea2000 system, so the first thing is to determine the value of that. Working in the helm console has moved up the list of my most unfavorite things👎
I did wrap up the chartplotter/transducer install yesterday and to the onboard battery charger today.
        Fun!
