Just heard from Tom via text..
"We evacuated to hotel last night in Ft Lauderdale Ole’s back yard. Pretty sure we lost our house. 12’+ water on the street this morning before the eye wall and surge really even started. Then we lost contact with someone who was there. We won’t be able to return for quite some time to assess and no one is allowed back on the island. God is good we are safe."

I asked if we could do anything and he said they were good.. Just prayer..

So sorry for all you guys impacted..

Thanks, you know better than anyone what loss means. We are ok in Ft Lauderdale, but we just learned this morning the Sanibel Causeway has collapsed into the Gulf. It's the only access, so will be a long haul back. Everything we own(ed) is on the island so it's a bit hard to comprehend. We are blessed, God will sustain us ...

Wow. It was very wise to evacuate. We’ve been through a number of them but nothing on that level of destruction.

Yes, I heard Legacy Harbor at Centennial was destroyed, totally wiped out. As marina's go that one was very well constructed, full breakwater, etc.

Holly crap, those pics are scary. Prayer for Tome and everyone in those barrier islands, looks like some of that will never be the same again. Just 2 days ago it was going towards my house!
