I live on the east coast in Brevard County and was originally just digging out the generator from the shed this morning for the inevitable loss of power and figured since the sheds 3/4 of the way empty why not dig out the window protection and install too! Besides that a little voice kept at me saying why not?
So I did, got a little bit of static form some asshole who's working on the neighbors house, " how long you been in Florida?" I answered since 1972, he replied "then you should know better". Just replied that I felt it in my gut.
Turns out Ian is slowing down and making a more easterly sweep towards us with some tornado forecasted so I say FU mister 2 tooth, you do you and I'll do me.
BTW: had plenty of gas in the boat, more than enough to siphon out and run the genny for days, already had window protection, water, plenty of food and other hurricane essentials. Did go out this afternoon and buy 120 lbs. of ice just in case at one of those self serve kiosks for 12.50 and 30.00 in beers....

The only redeeming quality about hurricane Ian is the fact it postponed Poopy Pants trip to Orlando..

Could you even imagine him in a hurricane? What with the dementia and incontinence he'd be a total mess..

      • Gave my Tampa crew off today but worked the orlando guys (We were mandatory evacuated yesterday in Tampa). Everyone in Orlando is off Wednesday and Thursday with Friday being called as we get closer.

I went over to my boat this morning. They are not forcing an evacuation of the port but the are seeing the coast guard around to inspect your lines. They will fine anyone who is not double tied.

Hurricane Dorian did the same thing here. Instead of flooding, it blew a “surge” out of the Ashley River.

I wonder if Kemper will be out there with his metal detector looking for lost treasure!

                • I thought I was in Kansas with Dorothy last night. 5 tornado’s touched down within a 1 mile radius of my house but luckily didn’t do any damage to the house. Debris everywhere today and just down the road about 4 or 5 oak trees were ripped out. The unicorn and flamingo are still floating in the pool!

Last night was the most tornados I’ve heard of even with prior hurricanes. Glad you didn’t get any damage.
