Personnaly I think you are advanced beyond that. What do you want practice on?
For $700 that is steep for that at OS.
I would get some private lessons where you can reach at $1000 yards.
Hell, I'll meet you at JTAC for free and hold your beer to watch.
You can even be my guest.
            Seriously.
Back to the question. What do you want to work on?

Yeah , I guess it's expensive , I was going to see how much they'd knock off if I didn't need lodging, seeing how I'm so close .
As far as what I want to work on , I'm mostly self taught , so I wonder if there's a better way , for pretty much everything .

I will take you up on that offer , if we can set something up that meets both our schedules .

            And thanks !

        • So. I drove to TyreTimes neck of the woods.
It was a bit of a hike.
          Some observations:
          - As for the Infrastructure money, Alabama uses it on it's roads, Mississippi does not.
          - Gas is going UP. Last price paid was $4.57 and I saw $4.99.
          - Gunline was a nice place to shoot, nice people and nice range.
I did get a perfect "10" right after I laid a "Donut", so, there is that, but the "10" was nice, now to get more consistent.

Yes, the range was very pretty. I enjoyed shooting there. And the drive throw the country was nice. Mississippi roads, not so much.

            0800 Saturday May 28th.
Bring what you want, we can go out to 1200 easy. a Mile if you shoot early before the mirage. :-))
Bring water, and something to eat if you want to be there a bit. Pooper on property.
We can text as we get closer.

        • Ole, don’t you want to try pistol shooting? That might be more helpful if you are ever in a self defense position. Just curious. I practice 5x pistol shooting for every time I shoot a rifle. Not that I’m exceptional doing either one.

            I shoot them.
You ever watch "Quiggly Down Under"?
"I said I never had much use for pistols, never said I didn't know how to shoot one".
I shoot once in awhile, and I have "a few".
Seems to me T/T is right, and small AR is the piece of choice, popping someone with a hand round just won't cut it.

Tactical use of an both rifle and pistol, individually and combined, is what we practice. Start with rifle, usually an AR, 5 rounds @ 25 yards target standing, then reload mag while moving to cover, 5 more rounds kneeling. Stand, sling rifle, draw pistol. Our tactical pistol range has what looks like 10 “No Parking” signs, 5 to your left, 5 to your right, staggered, with each being a 10 yard shot as you walk down the center. After 5 targets you must reload pistol.
Other than when actually shooting the rifle, you must keep moving, reloading both rifle and pistol while walking, transitioning from rifle to pistol while walking, acquiring and hitting targets while walking with the pistol.
We call the pistol range the “parking lot” and practice it with just pistol as well as separately shoot rifle in various positions. Usually, at the end of a session we have a “parking lot” competition to see who can hit all 10 signs with the fewest # of shots.
The guy that runs the range is former Recon Marine and he focuses on keeping moving, particularly while reloading, along with normal firearm proficiency techniques and obviously range safety. It’s serious fun😀

That is something I wish to do. I'd like to do some tactical training, both in AR and pistol, not much of that around here, JTAC might have some.

              • How was the “Man in Black” received in Mississippi?
All the country boys out in full force?

Daughter & son-in-law lived in Jackson for 4 years during his residency at University of Mississippi Hospital in Jackson.
Entire city is built on an old volcano and is constantly shifting.
Talk about roads!! The home foundation repair business is always in bloom.

Uh, been married some 43 years in a few weeks, so I’ve lost that ability to differentiate.
As to the gal in the pic, her specialty is a rear naked choke, which I thought sounded pretty good. 😀
