Not really looking to "HIDE" as much as hold on to, if your bank goes belly up I don't care if they say it's FDIC insured, you get $50 a month until your paid, FDIC is a joke. Paper money is basically a coupon. A $10 off coupon at one store/restaurant is worthless at another store/restaurant. The government and most everyone agree the values of each paper dollar bill.

Nobody fears all banks closing as we will all be in the same shity boat.
