So much wrong with this story , but the shooter should be facing armed assault , IMO
First , just half of a story , did they know each other ? Where were her cloths ? Why was she trying to get in ? Was her cloths inside the house ? Was this a sex deal gone bad ?
Second , where was the threat to the shooter ? She was outside hitting the door , how is that a threat ?

This is a great example of bad journalism .

That doesn't matter . He pushed her out the door , so the threat was over , but he shot her through the door .
Banging on a door is not a reason to shoot someone . You can only shoot a person if you fear for your life or the life of someone else .
But , if someone beats your ass , and you go get a gun and come back and shoot them , you've committed murder in the eyes of the law .
By law , he is guilty as hell .

Let's see, deranged person breaks into my house, beats me with a skillet, I manage to get this person out of the house but they are trying to regain entry, Yeah, I shoot them because I fear for my life and well being, I don't klnow how many hits in the head I can take before being overwhelmed.
