Similar pics to Smitty's. Not the most snow we've ever had but couldn't find other pictures. Probably on actual film (remember that?)

So much snow from this storm we were getting paid for weeks on end to load and truck it out of the towns.

My Mom was from Mobile, my Dad Chicago—they met while he was in flight school at NAS Pensacola.
When he got out we moved to Chicago.
After her fourth Winter there she told my Dad, “Larry, I’m going back to Mobile are you coming?”
Grateful to have had a Mom like that!! And a Dad too!!

Honestly do not believe I could breathe that cold of air.
My youngest daughter went with Young Life in high school and got altitude sickness really bad too.

        Nope. But I'm dreaming.
When I was in Coloradeee back in 77/78' I had altitude sickness for two years, it suckered.

        Altitude sickness is no joke.
Was in the CO mountains for 10 days, alone, only time I’ve had it. Hit me at around 13,000 ft.

Scared the crap outta me. Plus thinking of my family and the fact that they’d potentially never know what happened to me.

          Archery elk hunting.

The prior 14 years of elk hunting was with a group of buddies. But I always wanted to do a completely solo trip.

10 days living in a tent, no cell phone, no people, only contact with others was occasional visits in my camp from some Oklahoma boys camped a couple miles from me.

I was 42 at the time and I think they thought I was too old to be up there alone…lol. I appreciated them checking on me.

Was the most peaceful 10 days of my life. But not sure I’d do it again. Maybe.

That’s pretty brave to do a solo, but I certainly understand the enjoyment and solitude
