Spruced Up the Grandpa Truck a Tad

Well was about time for new hoops (44k on OE Goodyears) and wanted some Firestone Destination A/T2’s. After pricing them out decided I’d take another look at Texas Truck Tire and see what they had taken off and in stock. Wanted some OE black wheels too and they had a set off of a Chevy AT4. Swapped out the center caps for me and sent them on the way. Actually only $700 more for the combo than buying at Firestone store.

Also put 2” leveling kit on front and doesn’t look so Grandpa-ish anymore. Was thinking about a new truck but thought to myself why? Plus I just ordered Valla a new Landrover Defender for her retirement present so figured I’d keep this puppy a few more years—after all, I do like it!

Grandpa to not so Grandpa for $2500, less the cost of new tires I had to get anyway ($1350) = $1150 for OE wheels and OE leveling kit.

Did the same thing with my F250. Found a set of factory take offs from a tremor. Brand new rims and tires for 1500.00. Completely changed the look of the truck.

I understand your pain. My father in law had a 4 door 8' bed truck decades ago. Great on the hiway, terrible driving around downtown Savannah.

I actually like towing and using a 10' utility trailer for heavy stuff....much easier to load.

I agree! Had on my Armada that my daughter now drives but went with a dark gray on Valla’s new Defender. Just matched color scheme a little better than black

My F350 has shiny aluminum rims in the rear and gold rims in the front.

Of course if I was to ever wash it they might match.

My record is 4 years. At that point one of my guys (who washes his vehicle including company truck every weekend) couldn't take it anymore. He asked for my keys to "move the truck" and disappeared to the car wash and vacuum place. I told him he ruined my experiement.
