New study has shown that once you get Covid you can never get it again. Including all variants. The same applied for the first Sars that happened years ago. I wonder if the news will report this?

That is patently false. My own son has had it twice. My wife's best friend and her husband had it twice. That is "fake news"..

You need to stick to what you know.. You have NO idea what you are talking about. None..

Not sure why some think they know better then others. Tests show false positive results often, it's no secret. Also the tests cannot tell between covid and the flu. But I'm wrong because my doctor is stupid, right?

I was specifically talking about the statement that "a new study shows once you get Covid, you can't get it again".. My son has Covid right now for the 2nd time. 3 out of my 4 children have had it twice. My brother has had it 3 times. Could the test be inaccurate? Possible.. But, the lab verified tests (non rapid) are very accurate.

As far as your doctor being stupid, I don't know your doctor. But I know this, unless he/she is a specialist in the field we are discussing (virologist, epidemiology, immunologist), I would trust those that do this every day. Not saying they are stupid, just out of their wheelhouse. A heart doctor doesn't do brain surgery. A pulmonologist doesn't work with bones. An ortho doctor doesn't do nephrology.. And so on..

Your assertion that "test can't tell the difference between Covid and flu" is not true. I think you may be talking about this:

"Back in July 2021, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) voluntarily recalled a PCR test they'd been using.

The recall was not because the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test was inaccurate. It was because they have a different test that can check for both influenza and COVID-19 simultaneously – which is known as the "multiplexed method."

How would we ever know? Based on all the "PCR" test data (false positives/false negatives) who knows if they actually have it, had it, or not?

Just sayin, and in my opinion, there is NOTHING remotely "scientific" with regard to this bugger.

And is no one allowed to just have the the regular flue any more. I mean, there were next to zero "flu" cases in 2020-2021. Too funny!

PCR data is considered highly accurate, while antigen testing (rapid testing) is all based on how it is collected, etc.. It is an unfortunate issue that there can be false returns (positive and negative).

From the data I have seen, it has everything to do with viral loads during the first infection. I have 4 children and all 4 had Covid at one point or another.. My daughter is a PICU nurse. When she had it (Dec 2019/Jan 2020), she tested negative for the flu 3 times. Negative for strep.. Nothing helped, though. Tamiflu.. Steroids.. It took her about 3 weeks to get over it. They now know Covid was circulating at that time, are we 100% sure she had it? May never know for sure, but she has the antibodies now, but she has been vaccinated, too. When she was sick, it was well before the vaccine was available.

Out of 4 children, only one had a very "mild" case, like a bad cold. He got sick about 2 months ago (youngest son). He is vaccinated but got (his words), "a stuffy nose, like allergies". He was asked to get tested by his employers and it came back positive. He then took a PCR and it came back positive. He was sick for about 3 days. The other 3 all lost taste and smell, had fever and severe flu like symptoms.

My son that had it twice is not vaccinated. He was sicker the second time. He has been to the VA several times now. He has persistent shortness of breathe and joint pain. They say he has long haulers, but who knows.

      Just a side bar
I know a person that was ill and had 2 rapid tests negative, PCR test. Negative. Then another pcr test. Positive
I’ve heard others tell of this but don’t know them personally
Might have to do with the load, maybe neither test is all that reliable
Honestly it’s a crapshoot at this point imho

The new variant is terrible about bad results. They are trying to adjust the testing method. Not saying that’s the issue, but I have seen and heard this in “water cooler talks”.

I have had joint pain and cracking since a serious case of Covid last March. My sense of smell has also not recovered to what it was before Covid. I also have had lingering chest pain. That virus is horrid. I wish your children a full recovery.

Sorry KMAC but you are wrong. The science is showing once you get it you are good to go. This was also the case for SARS covid 1.

Also there is no asymptomatic spread. You either have it or don't .

currently expecting a huge "wave" here in the next few months, overseas tourists, students and anyone else can arrive with no quarantine, no anything, the daily infection rate has risen from a few hundred per day to over 1,000 per day, and expected to be multiple 1000s by February. The theory is, high double vaccination (right or wrong) anyone who gets it will have mild symptoms not requiring hospital or medical intervention......time will tell.

I know two people that got it twice. And a few athletes got it twice, Ravens QB was one of them.

One kid, 36, missed three weeks of work the first time, got vaxxed, got it again and was on disability for 5 weeks. Good kid, one of our best young engineers… not a slacker milking the system.

I’ve had several employees that have had Covid twice. One time it was bad the other time it was mild in each case.
