  • Roar Offshore event - Fort Myers Beach Oct 10-12

Just in case anyone is interested, offshore racing (OPA/F1) is returning to Fort Myers Beach October 10-12th after a long absence, called "Roar Offshore".

    www.roaroffshore.com

We've volunteered to be a patrol boat, so will be on the water for the 2 race days. We met with the organizers tonight and they expect as many as 80 race boats entered, which is a huge amount more than the norm of 30-35 boats. They've mapped a unique 5 mile course, with a few kinks in it instead of just a typical oval.

Should be plenty crazy, but a lot of fun. Let us know if you're in the neighborhood!

I put Saturday on my calendar. Does anyone want to join me on my boat? (32' Sailfish DC) We'll have Paninis, burgers and hot dogs. Remember the BOB rule: no nudity.

Nor happening, Admiral and I's 28th Anniversary, otherwise would love to see it from your Scout.
Never seen a race so it sounds neato.

We might have to come to your boat for lunch! Look for the Axopar 28C. Probably be the only one out there, and fully clothed ;-)

We still haven't put it in the water over here, just the sea trial in Dania. It's getting ceramic coating, final electronics install in Fort Myers now. Hopefully we'll have it in the water before the weekend :-)

Is 28 big enough for genset/ac?

The A/C is a DC unit, no inverter, so no genny. No room anywhere to put one. It has an 8D lithium battery for the A/C unit, with it's own charger and monitoring/protection setup. It all fits under the cabin rear seat, very compact. Mabru Power Systems installed it.
