I knew about the juice part, but why would you have to install the bad starter?

Edit: Is it to complete the circuit somehow?

Youngin, I turn 56 end of August so Ole is 3 years older than me.

Kyle, Lieutenant is a position, not a rank in this case so, yep, you're still a young one!.
Your other ranks are still concurrent and on going .
Man I'm funny before turning in after a long day!

Ole is still the MAN, no matter who knows,.

Good night all and SC, glad you came back under your own power!
          .

Yep, I’m one week behind Ole, same age.

Guess we’ll be doing birthday celebrations on our trip!
I’m soooo ready for a break, but having some moving to do and a trip to Jackson, MS on Monday for delivery of new grand baby. And no, I have zero desire to be anywhere near the birthing room. Give me a call when y’all get cleaned up and I’ll slide on down, otherwise I’ll be doing projects at their house. A mini me named Joseph 🙂

Now off to that thread to see what all the noise is about!

                So they shut it down?
Wtf, they shut down threads and delete posts over there faster than you can say Shazam.

They deleted one of mine where a guy was asking “what price range should this boat be in”, I replied referring to my Blackwood Prop just sold for me.
I sent a note to Mod 7 asking for clarification, and what I did wrong, so Mod 11 sent me a note back that we took another look at it and put back your post back up—ok cool, just trying to help buyer. Asked him if there was a perception I’d done something wrong in violation of forum rules........no reply.

Another one disappeared on Capt Flippy’s Blackwood for sale ad where someone asked about speeds and I commented about expectations with different sized props, since I had that model boat about five years, and ran three different propellers. Post was gone in sixty seconds so why even try and help people with first hand knowledge and information—sad.

Bet if it was a Freeman ad/thread it would all be cool

Quick question on the starter thing,
Wouldn't the motor shut of if you disconnected the battery cable to move the starter from the running motor to the non running motor ? , I understand with a diesel motor it could stay running as the ignition is not from spark.

                    Good question.
I imagine you would need to keep 12v connected during the swap, the engine needs that to run.

In the auto/truck/agriculture world it depends. Some use the battery post on the starter as a junction also to feed the electronic systems. Others get theirs from a separate source/junction.

I would think so too, don't know if the generator/alternator/stator would keep it running without a battery.

I would think you would lose the injectors, fuel pumps etc. not volunteering to test this.

Good point GnrPhil. Didn't think of that

fuel pump stops at 8.6v on a 150 yammie from experience
