What do you think Ole? I am guessing 375 and 425 or 450.

They must be running them on a Freeman in that water.

Mercury goes to 400. My guess is its at least 450.

Wouldn't they have released those in Miami if these were going to be 400 + HP engines?

Hopefully they’ll build it from something other than that 60 degree v8.

The word on the 425 Yam v8 and the new 350 v6 has been out for about 6 months. Given Yams success with new engines (HPDI, 350, 300 and all SHOs), anyone with a brain would wait a few years before buying one.

Not going to happen. Waiting to buy that is. People love to crow about those warranties. They will tell you " I don't care if it breaks, yamaha will fix it" Then they will head to forum to bitch bout it being in shop for 6 weeks.

Watch it be a new 4-cyl to compete with the lightweight Mercury!

Mercury is stepping it up for sure.

Wow, 4.6l V8's nice! Even with great technology it still seems challenging to break the stranglehold Yamaha has on OEM transoms, especially salt. Very impressive though.

Time will tell. I got a dealer to quote on new 3.4 V6 200. Book retail within $200 of I-4 Yam 200. 2 more cylinders....same weight. Of course not all people are looking for more grunt. One of the drawbacks for me would be having to learn the new engine/manufacturer. I am pretty comfortable with the Yamaha I have. It has been flawless for 6 years.
