  • If You Were Going to Buy a CC………..

Hypothetically, if you were going to purchase a new 29’ to 35’ center console what would you consider and why?

      Sorry, that would help!!
Fishing setup definitely from console back
Some women’s amenities up front—fwd seating and a potti is imperative

The two best I’ve built so far were a 36’ Invincible but with the 33’ fwd seating modules, and 34’ Fountain TE, also with forward seating. Both had plenty of room to work your way around fwd seating to bow without climbing over seats.

Mono-hull, and always wanna go a min of 60mph, preferably a little more(70) but not a deal killer

Are we fishing, sandbaring or just want to go fast?

Ummm... Regulator.. Blackfin.. Grady.. Boston Whaler.. Not sure why I would, beside the reasoning that they are solid brands with solid reputations, and have been for many years. Never owned any of them. Will never.. LOL.. No money... Haha... But I would want to be able to fish and ride.. So fishability with some comforts.
As of April 2nd, boatless for the first time in many years.

I would seriously consider the value of my life, the weapons available to my wife and the possibility of her using them and the boat to give me the most expensive Viking funeral possible....for spending that crazy amount of money on something to drink frosty beverages and catch a fish I can buy at Publix.

Sunsation 34CCX popping up everywhere around here, right in Nor-Tech's back yard. Very comfortable and fast.

My 340 NT was without a doubt the best riding and handling mono hull I’ve ever owned. Problem is there is too much fru-fru and you can’t get a good fish combination on 34’. The 392 Super Fish is amazing but too big.

Watching those inlet boat cams - my conclusion, just from watching, was the Nor Tech ate up the crap better than all of the other mono's. Like a knife thru the waves.

I agree. Not tech almost never has a problem though I think one of the “best” stuffings was a not tech but user error.

Yah, the Sunsation is not much about fishing either. Most of the fancy go fast CC's around here never see a fishing rod in the holders ;-)

Then why have them? Oh yes status posing as real boaters.

You have to put Yellowfin in the running and Nortech for sure. but do take a hard look at a Robalo while you're at it, maybe not quite in the league you're looking for but take a test run and see...

For fishing? 34 SeaVee hands down

Awesome ride, well built, no fruity stuff to break.

33 Valhalla for the runner up

Heard excellent things but never stepped foot on one yet. I saw one last weekend fishing the Bluewater comp and it’s a pretty boat. What’s your thoughts on them?

Prop has Frontrunner and I know Phil, one of the owners.
Really liked the 39’ but the first 33’ that Prop got definitely needed some tweaks.
I need to go back and visit the Frontrunner 33’ again.

There are just so many options in that size range. With Miami and Fort Lauderdale shows over, I’d plan a trip to Palm Beach show later this month.

I think your speed requirement narrows your field a bit. I think I’d have my eyes on a SeaVee, Valhalla, Nortech or yellowfin.

however not sure if Onslow Bay will get you up to those speeds but if so may be worth a look. Another would be Barker Boatworks but they only make a 26 and 40.

Edited to add Intrepid. They make a beautiful Nomad 345.

                Good point on the Barker.

Intrepid tick a lot of boxes but I’m not sure that anyone designing Intrepid’s actually fishes because we have had to do major modifications to all our Intrepid’s to make them into “fish boats”. I LOVE Intrepid’s because of their customer service and hull build.

I’ve never run the 33 onslow but have heard it’s a beast. I have a 41 I have run in California and now have it back here and it’s a great boat fishing wise but lacking in other aspects…. For example Our bilge pump switches are mounted INSIDE the cockpit….. tell me how that’s a good idea!

Prop had Onslow Bay for a while and I spent some time on the 33. It’s a great boat but just not for me.
From an appearance perspective, I personally think the YF 32 is gorgeous.

Mike O, I had a deposit down on a 32 Sea Vee but ended up switching to a 34NT
Hunter Barrett at Sea Vee is a great guy

Seavee anything, good problem to have!

                So many choices.
Ive always liked Jupiter boats(I know nothing of their quality and customer service)
The 34 is a nice fishing machine with some fluff for the lady

Seavee and yellowfin ain’t horrible either.

                  Cape Horn.

I like the way they are built, the lack of frilly stuff - just a brute of a fishing bote.

I like the lack of cushy stuff. I don't take care of those things well - I want to bleach, power wash and be done with it.
