I like the advantages of diesels. Downsides though would be weight and cost. I guess we'll see how they do in the market...Charlie

            It's been "around" for years.
They wanted us for dealers three years ago, I said, yea, get it to market, then we talk.
Two boat shows ago they had a pair on an Intrepid, they looked good, but didn't run.
Last year, same thing I think.
They need Musk money to get that thing moving.

Didn't run at all? Didn't try to run them? One would assume they would want to demonstrate how good they are...Charlie

They need to run consistently first.

Did they have problems running them? Hard to understand why to bring them to show if not running right...Charlie

                    Gotta show something.
I have yet to see a pair in the wild.

Without trying to start a debate, I don't think diesel is the way for "mainstream" boating, it may have a small market segment, but the average boater wants fast, quiet, cheap, light weight, good fuel economy, good looks.......did I leave anything out? and diesel doesn't provide as many of these requirements as a common old 4 stroke car engine does (with a propellor)

The one (small) segment that might bennifit.
                        Larger yachts and their tenders.
One non volital fuel to supply. And the big note has plenty.

Yep, that's probably about 10 units a year sales, then there is maybe a small commercial market, is that worthwhile to cater for?

This is the boat (I think) and some very thoughtful discussion on some of the points you made Ole.
