  • Boynton Fishing.

    Hey Surfercross,
My great nieces are in town and they want Uncle Ole to take them fishing.
5 and 7. With the patience of a pissed off bear. My SIL (Awesome lady) is going, but it can't be rough or hot. Last time sitting on the seawall at Boynton inlet fishing, it was rough and hot. (It's Florida lady). The girls caught two fish and they are hooked. Yea-----.
Anyway, would like to go out and get some YT, any spots right out front of the inlet, 25-50 deep?
Anything inside if it is truly rough out?
Next Thursday is calling for 15-20 SE, that will certainly be to rough.
Oh, and we have to fish South, if we go North they see's Trumps beach house and that just brings up a whole other deal I'm not dealing with on my bote.

Damn I saw your post on THT but I can't post there. I just saw your post here. You can hit the reefs off Delray in about 60 to 80 Feet. Also there are mooring boys off Boca Raton in about 20 feet right off the beaches. I would say don't go if its blowing that hard but you already know that. I will be surfing for sure. Might be better off going to a pier and fishing.

What about going on one of the drift boats (Living on Island Time)? It's cheap, the boats are big and comfortable, it's only 4 hours, and the Mates will deal with baits, hooks, rods, etc.

My SIL is a great lady, but boats aren't her thing.
If we go out, she darn well knows she controls the itinerary. She no likey, we go home, NOW.
My great nieces are, how do we say, a handfull when things don't go their way, and they are pretty used to Uncle Ole doing what they desire, A) It brings a smile to my brothers face, B) It's easier, C) I don't see them often.
So, they are pretty used to having the capatain do as they instruct.
Now, on my first expedition to the Boynton Inlet seawall, me, them, two (2) sets of "gear", towels, water, rods, bait, suntan lotion, etc.
One hooked right up an it ran for the rock, so, new hook, then the other hooks up, my brother and SIL with hooks are useless. Fish need to bite every second or they get bored.
One hour to find parking, set up, 10 mins fishing, it was hot, OK, we are done, lets go home and swim in the pool.
I know what I am in for and it's priceless, but man is it work.
        Ahhhh, family.

              Ahhhhhh, No.
Funny that, two of my older brothers are Oceanographers, including Sean's father, the father of the mother of these two Cherubs.
I think the closest Sean gets to open water is a bathtub, and, he has "People" that catch fish.

Trying to upload. Apparently the fish (picture) is too big to load from my phone.

Hey that's a good start. I have been hearing that the fishing is really good right now. I heard that there have been good reports of people getting good sized Mahi in 750 ft area.
