9 footer, end of season, no! I didn't go!
Let Son borrow my boat again, now for the real story telling, in two hunts of 5 hours of run time, ready, it burned less than 5 gallons, woohoo ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰.

Had Gator for dinner tonight, Gator and Grits, yummy!

    • Went out Monday morning out of Port Everglades. Got out of the inlet and saw bait crashing on either side of the channel. Trolled north in 50 feet but only ended up with two short strikes. I continued north and trolled in approximately 150 feet of water. No fish, but did have a free jumping sailfish right by the boat while out by the freighters. Got to Pompano and the boat traffic was picking up so I headed out deeper in hopes to find something floating. Ran into a few diving birds but nothing until I got back south of the inlet. Caught 2 small dolphin of 20 and 22 inches just south of the port in 600 feet. I donโ€™t keep any dolphin under 22, so one went back and one was invited home for dinner. Wrapped up around 2 oโ€™clock and headed home with this gal. Click image for larger version

Definitely better than working! Both dolphin hit a green and yellow skirted ballyhoo. The short strikes were on a blue and white skirted ballyhoo and a chartreuse sea witch & ballyhoo on a planer.

    • No one fishing these days? Been summer hot down here in south Florida!

          • Iโ€™ve been fishing a lot for work but this one makes me really happy. 3 hours to kill before school pickup when my buddy and I both had a day off. One drop and done

Probably my favorite fish of all, to eat. I have had it a few times. I have never caught any, but have had friends that did.

          • Fished a couple of hours this morning and caught a nice variety of Fort Lauderdaleโ€™s abundant species. ๐Ÿ˜ก

It was amazing how many are out there with the west winds. We probably picked up 20 odd this week.

LOL, no. But I did pull a nice dolphin from under one a few years ago. I suppose thereโ€™s good and bad in everything.
